Welcome to GM96

Welcome to the 10th Anniversary Edition of GM96!

ImageAfter 10 years of continuous service to the Governor Mifflin Senior High School Class of 1996, this website has been completely rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage to new technology.  We were the first class to enter Governor Mifflin High School in the 9th grade and thus spend four years its halls, and we were the first class to have our own stop on the information super highway.  Our new website incorporates many of the concepts of the earliest site, published on the internet just prior to graduation: keeping in touch, continuing friendships, spreading news of reunions, and so on; but it now embellishes and expands on these concepts with an ease of use that was not available in the fledgling internet frontier days of the mid-90's.  As always, this site also provides a free alternative to the for-profit corporate reunion sites that fill inboxes with spam and charge fees to say hello to old friends.  And, as always, this site will continue to grow and mature with us as we Learn to Live, and Live to Learn.

5th Year Reunion Details Wanted
Hi everyone!  I would like to add some content to the website to help document the fact the we actually did have a 5-year reunion.  I have a few photos laying around that I plan to scan and post to the site.  It would be great to have your input as well with details like: the day it was held, where it was held (Sinking Spring, right?), etc.  Also, please send any photos you would like to contribute to the cause.  You can use the contact page to send an email, or better yet, sign-in and leage a message on the message board!  Thanks in advance for all your help!

Added the Yearbook

I have recceived at least one request to bring back the yearbook feature, so I made it happen tonight.  If you ever visited the previous version of this website, you may have noticed that it had a page set up to display the senior class photo pages from the 1996 yearbook from our high school.  I put a lot of time into that page with all the scanning of pages ad coding of javascript to swap images; but it had to go when I switched to the new content management system.  Anyway, I still have all of the scanned pages, and it didn't take long to set up a new section of the website to display tthem with this new content management system.  Here's the catch: you need to register for the site and log-in to be able to see it.  I figured that most people who care have signed up anyway, and this would give us a layer of protection from the casual browser who might just be mildly curious what one of us looked like in high school.  Fair enough?  Let me know if you would like to see any other pages added, and I may add them to my to-do list.

Added "Reunion Central"
In the interest on making it easier to find reunion info, I have added the "Reunion Central" section to the website.  I didn't spend much time thinking about the name, so suggestions to change it are welcome.  I'm thinking that this section will be the place to post photos and stories from past reunions, news and info on current reunions, and also maintain some sort of future planning ideas for reunions down the road.  If anyone has any suggestions for what they would like to see here or they might like to use the site to help plan a reunion, please let me know!
